Teacher Excellence Programme" popularly referred to as the STEP.
The Shivalik B. Ed. College since it's inception in 1998 stands committed to
provide a number & variety of innovative, joyful & purposeful learning
experiences, activities, workshops, traning programmes etc. for your
developement. The continous & comprehensive evaluation and assessment systems
designed & developed by STEP are transparent, effective and finally help to draw
out the best in trainees Hand, Head & Heart or the body, Mind & the soul as
desired by father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
During the session, we shall have enriching Teaching-Training-Learning encounters. There will be so much to share, swap and experience that you will surely like your STEP to get extended, may be life long. The programme that we have developed & designed for your personality shaping, will foster Competencies, Performances & Commitments as required in the field and the profession. Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan the geat teacher and The President of India once remarked, "No Nation can rise above it's Tachers." His golden words have become more relevant than ever before. This consequently puts on our shoulders the immense responsibility to organize value based & technology driven academic traning and skill development programme, for meeting our cherished goals and those laid down by our Alma Mater-The University of Jammu.
Starting from the current session, Yoga & Scouting has been introduced along with NSS activities.Guest Lecture series will be strengthend, Alumini association will be formed. We have collaborated with prestigious organisation like ABRS ( Akhil Bharatiya Rachnatmak Samaj ) YHAI ( Youth Hostels Association of India ), The J&K Bharat Scouts Guides, WWF, The Rama Krishan Mission, The Yoga Peeth ( Uttaranchal ) & The Council for Communal Harmony etc for making our training programme rich & exciting. The events will provide each one of you opportunities to lead and organize, thereby making you suitably fit for the demands of the profession and the educational field at large.
Remember, ' Nothing Succeeds Like Success.' The achievement of goals & objectives requires us to be enthusiatically competent, performing and committed. Sincerity, Regularity, Punctuality, Creativity, a problem soloving Ability and a Positive Attitude is expected from you. The Motto of the Scouting & Guiding movement is ,' Be Prepared.' Similarly the NSS motto says, ' Not Me-But You.' Let us learn from these two golden maxims and stay ever prepared and enthusiastic to serve others. The college Vision statement is now the guiding philosophy for us. I invite each one of you to contribute your experiences, talents and skill to take your Alma -Mater ie your Shivalik College of Education to greater heights.
Friends , the noblest of all profession is teaching. So, you are above ordinary
persons. There is an ocean of devotion, compassion, affection and hidden
talents, which has made you to choose this one, out of serval available choices.
I congratulate each one of you, in this supreme choice, to become the mentors of
the generation next.
